Selecting a Board Size

It is important to make sure your new chess board is sized properly with respect to your chess pieces for maximum visual appeal and playing enjoyment. It's simple to do, just measure the base of your king and divide that dimension by the size of the square in question. A properly sized board will result in a quotient between 0.68 and 0.75. For your convenience, we've included suitable "king base-diameter ranges" at the end of each product narrative.

Board is too small, chessmen are crowded.

Board is too large, sparsely populated.
